Summary of Events held in Brazil

1) Location: FLORIANÓPOLIS

1.1) Organization: TRANSITO AMIGO (NGO) and partners

1.2) Programming / Activities:

a) Presentation of the Musical Band of the Military Police;

b) Arrival of the teams of motorcyclists, cyclists and runners;

c) Ecumenical Celebration with voices of CEMJ;

d) Presentation of the musical band of the Prainha Church;

e) Manifestations of personalities and authorities in support of the Decade of Action for Road Safety - 2011-2020;

f) Delivery of the manifesto in support of the Decade of Action for Road Safety - 2011-2020;

g) Delivery of prizes of the contest drawings - Theme: “Transit is Life”.

2) Location: RIO DE JANEIRO

1.1) Organization: Traffic Department – DETRAN/RJ and partners

1.2) Programming / Activities:

a) Educational campaigns;

b) Policing and enforcement actions on alcohol and drugs.

3) Location: PORTO ALEGRE

1.1) Organization: Traffic Department – DETRAN/RS and partners

1.2) Programming / Activities:

a) Working meeting with representation from government agencies and ONG organizations to discuss proposals and prepare a document containing a set of actions to be developed to the Decade of Action for Road Safety - 2011 - 2020;

b) Hoisting the white flag in Piratini Palace and the Legislative Assembly and the participation of the Military Brigade Band to commemorate the victims of road traffic accidents;

c) Action of the Center of Formation of Conductors - CFC - all over the State (may also be hoisting the white flag on the municipal council and / or at the headquarters of CFC), reflection in the classroom centers, interviews on radio and newspapers places, etc.;

d) Actions of Media: - Pop Up for the site DETRAN/RS and the Government - newspaper advertisement (capital and countryside) - interviews on the radio.

4) Location: SALVADOR

1.1) Organization: FENASDETRAN, DETRAN/BA, Municipal Health Secretariat and partners

1.2) Programming / Activities:

a) 1^st Seminar on World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims;

b) 1^st Walk on World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.

Other activities: mobilization activities involving the Departments of Transit of all Brazilian capitals (27 cities) and activities undertaken by the Municipal Health Secretariat and partners of the cities
