From the road victim organization – Efthita – in Rhodes:

We are writing this to let you know what we did here in Rhodes for the World Day of Remembrance this year.

On that day (18/11/2007) a special memorial service for the local victims of road accidents was held by the Bishop of Rhodes in the church of Koskinou, a small town on the outskirts of Rhodes. A lot of people attended the service and our president, Mrs Eleni Karidi, made a speech afterwards. This service was followed by a very interesting talk about Traffic Danger in the nearby school. This was attended by many people, among them was a former MP, two representatives from our Prefecture, the local Mayor, the Chief of Traffic Police of Rhodes, relatives of road crash victims, a representative of the Harley Davidson's Owners Club, doctors etc. Three days ago, we also placed a Christmas tree in the international airport Diagoras of Rhodes, on which everyone can place a little card with wishes for the year to come.
