World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims 2010

PARC Road Safety Group is holding a special inter-denominational ceremony in Buncrana Youth CentreCastle Avenue, Inishowen in Co. Donegal at 2pm on Sunday 21st of November this year to mark The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.

It will be opened by Mr. Noel Brett CEO of the Road Safety Authority.

It will be a special ceremony to remember all those affected by road traffic collisions on Ireland's roads and all are welcome to attend. The injured and the relatives of those killed are particularly welcome. We hope that as many as possible can come out and show their support to victims, their families and the emergency services on the day.

There will be an opportunity during the ceremony for all those present who have lost a loved one, to light a candle which will be provided and to dedicate it in their memory and to enter their names in our Book of Remembrance. Photographs of a lost loved one may be taken along and included in the ceremony.

If you have suffered a bereavement on our nation's roads and cannot attend our special ceremony, but would like to leave a dedication in memory of your loved one - please email Cette adresse email est protégée contre les robots des spammeurs, vous devez activer Javascript pour la voir. or telephone 086 3773784. A candle will be lit for each dedication during our Day of Remembrance ceremony and also added to our Book of Remembrance for road crash victims.

======================================================

197 precious lives have been lost on Ireland's roads to date including 19 on Donegal roads - Inishowen has seen multiple fatalities this year, the most recent being the worst since records began when 8 people lost their lives in a single collision.

We in PARC feel it is so important to support all victims and their families in the aftermath of such a traumatic event.
