There are no translations available. “Working to minimize road trauma”
ICART is a network of global organisations and national Coalitions Against Road Trauma (ICART) – therefore a network of organisations all working to highlight, address and reduce road trauma. “Working to minimize road trauma” This network originated with the setting up of Estrada Viva – Coalition Against Road Trauma by ACA-M in Portugal in 2005, subscribed to by associations representing health professionals, emergency services, road safety experts, relevant charities and civil rights organisations, as well as committed individuals. The general idea is that anyone subscribing to the coalition can do whatever they feel is needed to promote its principles of minimizing road trauma. The main role and strength of such a coalition is that organisations, institutions and individuals working towards the same goals can feel united and can demonstrate their commitment to working towards minimizing road trauma - simply by adding their name to a Coalition Against Road Trauma in their country, and through that to ICART. The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims offers existing and potential signatories an opportunity to point to the consequences of crashes and their severe impact, therefore ICART is suggested as a global World Day initiative, with membership of global organisations and institutions and National Coalitions Against Road Trauma, which all countries are invited to set up.
Suggested invitation to potential Coalition members
