ASIRT Kenya will be spearheading the commemoration of the day in collaboration with other organizations. The event has already begun to be publicized by some media houses. Below is a summary of other events:

  • We shall assemble hundreds of victims, family members and the public to commemorate this day

  • Press releases in advance.

  • A memorial tree planting ceremony at Uhuru Park. This will be followed by planting of 3000 trees at a later date in a gazetted forest in memory of those that lose their lives annually. This will act as a memorial park and will be branded

· Testimonies by road crash survivors and family members of victims.

· Musical Concert showcasing various performances.

· Dance troupe

 

· Attendance of various distinguished guests including a high profile guest speaker.

· Signing of a memorial quilt composed of blocks with messages from family and friends of road crash victims.

· Branded banners/posters with road safety messages.

· Presentations by various stakeholders, including the government.

· Call for a Decade of Action

· Handouts: reflective jackets, t-shirts.

· Elaborate Media coverage of the event.
