Events to be held in Canada for World Day of Remembrance 2008 Canada's first National Day of Remembrance for Road Crash Victims, being held in Ottawa on November 19, is an important event that will honour the memory of those who have perished on our roads in the past year, and to remind Canadians why driving responsibly is so important to our families, communities and ourselves. This is the first time that the day has been recognized in Canada and the event is being led by MADD Canada. The focus for 2008 is victims of impaired driving. The committee responsible for organizing the event is comprised of representatives of the provincial, territorial and federal governments of Canada, including Transport Canada. The event is being held in Ottawa, at the National Arts Centre, on November 19, 2008 and begins at 10:00am. To promote the day, the committee has launched a website: http://rememberroadcrashvictims.ca/ |
