Events to be held in Croatia for World Day of Remembrance 2008

Organised and promoted by the by the Association of Families of Road Traffic Victims - Udruga Obitelji Stradalih u Prometu

This year commemorations will include, like last year, an exhibition of a great number of shoes - as a symbol and tribute to those who cannot ever wear them again.

619 candles will be lit for 619 victims of road traffic in Croatia in 2007 - in Pula,
Zagreb, Osijek, Split, and other cities

The most important daily newspapers will publish In Memoriam stories of those who have lost their lives on Croatia’s roads.

For the first time, trees will be planted in memory: 41 trees will be planted in Pula Cemetery, to represent a Park of Remembrance, in tribute to 41 victims in Istria.
