World Day of Remembrance events to be held in Abuja, Nigeria, in 2008 Programmes by SAFETY ALLIANCE www.safetyallianceng.org 1 Special memorial service for victims of road crashes 10am -12 pm Venue: In Various churches 2 Memorial Candle lighting session 4:00 – 5pm Venue: Sentosa Parks & Recreation, Zone B, Apo legislative Quarters 3. Procession to the Hon. Speaker’s house to present the SCROL 5:30pm 4. Procession to the Senate President’s house to present the SCROL 6pm 5. Procession to the Nigerian Television Authority. 6:45 pm 6. Procession to African Independent Television 7:30 pm - The 2008 event is planned to achieve two objectives: ● Galvanize legislative support for the purpose of inspiring the law makers to throw their weights behind enacting new laws or reviewing existing laws relating to road safety in Nigeria ● Galvanize the media to support the effort to spread road safety awareness in Nigeria |
